Title: Dark Tourism: An Immoral Promotion of Death & Disaster?

Abstract: The posters for this course are composed of student illustrations of dark tourism sites, Photos of a group field trip to the University of Guelph Ghost Walk, and a book examined in the course called “ The Darker Side of Travel: The Theory and Practice of Dark Tourism” Edited by Richard Sharpley and Philip R. Stone. Both posters include a definition of what Dark Tourism is, as well as one of them containing a chart showing severity of dark tourism rating from darkest to lightest, the chart looks at influences such as time since event, authenticity, and political influence. The same poster includes a table showing categories of Dark Tourism such as: religious places, houses, battlefields, and themed museum collections.
