Title: Careers as Metaphors

Abstract: This course examines careers from an individual perspective, drawing career theory and research, but applied to you as a career actor. It explores personal values, interests, personality and competencies and encourages students to consider what career path is right for them. The seminar also examines practical career development skills, such as professional development, job search and inter-personal communication. The ultimate learning outcomes of this course will be increased self-awareness, understanding of the nature of careers and understanding of the realities of the present and future career landscape. This poster looks at topics such as careers as inheritance,and cycles. As well as observing careers as journeys, resources, roles, and stories.
