dc.description Sally Humphries is an Associate Professor in International Development Studies. In 1993, she collaborated with a Honduran agronomist, Jose Jimenez, to create a farmer participatory research program in Honduras. The program trains poor hillside farmers to become researchers. Since its inception, the program has trained thousands of local farmers – men, women and youth - to improve their maize and beans, the principle subsistence crops in Honduras. The program is managed by a Honduran NGO, led by Jose Jimenez and Sally Humphries.
