Title: Potato, Tomato and Sweet Potato Production Trials in 1988
Author: McKeown, A.W.; Reynolds, L.A.
Abstract: The aim of these studies was to improve production systems for potato, tomato and sweet potato vegetable crops. Emphasis in the potato program was manipulation of seed tuber physiology to obtain earlier harvests of early potatoes, investigation of the uneven emergence phenomena, and breeding line evaluation. Tomato work was divided into two areas, conservation tillage for processing tomatoes and development of cultural practices for premium pack fresh market tomatoes. Sweet potato work concentrated on cultivars and optimum harvest dates.
