Abstract:
|
New academic librarians are often not fully cognizant of how their parent institutions operate. This session will assist new librarians to better understand the complexities of publicly funded universities in Ontario, specifically as it pertains to librarians’ circumstances. Topics covered include: governance and funding, budgets, unions and faculty associations, hiring committees, academic status and those ‘other’ parts of the job (Scholarship and Service). |
