Abstract:
|
This summer issue highlights the women's graduation at the Macdonald Institute. Beginning this issue is a tribute to the late Professor Squirrell. Agricultural articles pertain to the genetics of dairy cattle breeding and observations on the fig. Other articles address the memorial gardens dedicated to leading Canadian agriculturalists and equating an animal's metabolism to an engine. Student contributions include articles on the differences in university systems between English and Canada, and a travel diary regarding the Yukon. The literary section addresses the Canadian painting loan collection from the National Gallery. Campus news pertains to the conferences held on campus, the acquisition of a champion Shorthorn bull, and a short story about the jinx of a cat on a ship. The Macdonald Institute column is devoted to the women's examination results and commencement exercises. Alumni news reports on the June alumni reunions on campus and alumni updates. Of interest is the initiation of an O. A. C. father's and son club to recognize the subsequent generations of O. A. C. alumni. |
