Abstract: In 1990, a father leaves his family under mysterious circumstances. This autobiographical long poem, in sixty-four linked parts, is a daughter’s account of the silent landscape around a father’s complicated choices. Through an appreciation for the natural world, and her eventual experience of motherhood, the narrator is eventually able to re-envision what was lost and find within herself something worth perpetuating.
