First Year Seminars

First-year seminars offer small, intensive learning experiences to students in first and second semester. They are built around themes or issues of contemporary interest that can be explored from a variety of perspectives. Any student can take any seminar; there are no prerequisites. As a result, students from across the university are brought together to explore important and engaging topics. All seminars are interdisciplinary in perspective and provide a rich array of learning activities from fieldtrips and site visits and interviews to suggesting solutions to real world problems.
