Title: Faster and more effective analysis of antioxidant compounds in tomatoes using microwaves

Abstract: Microwave-assisted extraction was found to be a more effective and less time consuming technique for measuring the amounts of phenolics in tomatoes. Although not as accurate as more sophisticated chemical analyses, the FRAP test for antioxidant activity was a good measure of total phenolic content.
