Abstract
This thesis describes a search for drugs which could be added to bull semen in concentrations that would not reduce the fertilizing capacity of the spermatozoa, but would kill Vibrio fetus organisms. Emphasis was placed in bacteriocidal rather then bacteriostatic effect, because with the imperfection of present knowledge of the attack and defence mechanisms of pathogen and host respectively, the author felt confidence could be placed safely only in agents causing, as nearly as could be determined, complete kill.
