Title: Quality and success of embryo transfer in dairy cows fed whole flax seed
Author: Petit, H.V.; Cavalieri, F.B.; Santos, G.T.; Morgan, J.; Sharpe, P.; Institute for Community Engaged Scholarship
Abstract: Feeding flax seed to heifers did not improve maintenance of gestation after embryo transfer (in comparison to Megalac). In fact, feeding a rich source of flax seed decreased the quality of embryos from donor cows and did not improve pregnancy rate in recipient heifers. Therefore, feeding flax seed to heifers does not improve reproductive performance.
