Abstract: 'Blightbringer and Her Relentless Spring' is an East Asian-inspired fantasy novel about two ostensible enemies, on separate sides of an imperial occupation, who must traverse hostile terrain together to return stolen artifacts back to their rightful keepers. Told in chapters that alternate between the points-of-view of the two protagonists, this story is inspired by Chinese myths and grapples with themes of justice, power, fairness, and imperialism’s lasting influence on the climate crisis.
