Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the growth of home lawn type Kentucky bluegrass in poor quality rootzones when organic fertilizer provided by the sponsor was added. Corn gluten treatment had the highest colour quality rating and the alfalfa treatment had the lowest. The corn gluten treatment had the highest canopy reflectance index. This differs from the results found in the 2006 trial. All fertilizers had statistically significant increases in soil nitrogen levels over the control. All the treatments except for alfalfa were consistently above the NPK standard, with the best treatment being the Corn Plus.
