Abstract: This study compared the effectiveness of a sponsor's fertilizer against an industry-standard when applied to creeping bentgrass on putting green turf. 5 treatments were applied, 3 of which were the sponsor's fertilizers, 1 industry-standard (IBDU) and 1 control plot. Data was collected over the colour, strength, turf quality density, uniformity, and resistance to disease, stress, and weeds. The plots that received treatment fared better than the control plot throughout the entire season but especially at the end. Plots that received only 1 application of fertilizer yielded good results at the bedding of the season but then dropped over time. Plots receiving 2 applications of treatment yielded more consistent results throughout the entire season, and plots receiving 4 treatments had the highest positive results. The industry-standard fertilizer had larger N rates than the experimental treatment which was correlated with increased leaf tissue growth.
