Abstract: Fashion Based Cellular Automata (FBCA) are a specialized form of Cellular Automata (CA) that have had success in generating large level-maps for use in games. This work focuses on defining FBCAs formally, providing a mathematical framework and defining phenomena for FBCA space. Using this framework, equivalence classes of similar FBCAs are found. Later several geometric representations of the space of two state FBCAs are explored. Finally, a novel method to generate FBCAs is explored. These tools are then used to speculate about avenues of future work.
