Title: Rainwater Harvesting System Design for CAMTAC Linamar Plant
Author: Martyn, Sabina; Jusek, Kim; DeLuca, Matthew
Abstract: The system outlined in this paper was designed to reduce the cost of water at the CAMTAC Linamar plant through the harvesting of rainwater. The rainwater harvesting system consists of five components: collection, distribution, storage, water quality, and control mechanisms to accommodate non-ideal rainfall conditions. Historical rainfall data was used in a MATLAB model to simulate the amount of water that could be utilized by the CAMTAC plant using this system. From this model, it was determined that such a system could be implemented with a pay back period of 3.
