Abstract: Solar thermal air heating technology has a long history of use throughout Canada with varying degrees of penetration. With our abundant amount of solar resource, solar air heating technology offers a number of advantages for residential homes. With increasing energy demands, costs and concern for the environment, a solution is needed. Not only can solar air heating offset energy and heating costs, but reduce the amount of heat lost in residential homes. The purpose of this thesis is highlight the contributions made toward the design and development of the SolarStorm solar air heating and insulating panel, at the request of Innovative North.
