CARC was a non-profit organization, founded in 1974, responsible for coordinating research and technology transfer efforts in agriculture and agri-food. It coordinated the development and updating of codes of practice for the care and handling of farm animals. It had approximately 35 members, drawn from the industry, the university community and public administrations. It was disbanded about 2007.
