Title: Section II: Task Force report on fertilizer nutrients and animal husbandry operations

Abstract: In October 1972, the Director-General of the Research Branch, Agriculture Canada authorized the formation of an internal task force to: 1) survey existing information on agricultural pollution of the Lower Great Lakes; and 2) develop a proposal for a research program to find solutions for any problems identified in the survey. Three sources of agricultural pollution were identified: 1) Animal and crop waste disposal; 2) Plant nutrients from agricultural land; and 3) Use of pesticides on agricultural crops. This report focuses on the the fertilizer nutrients and animal husbandry operations study.
