Abstract: In October 1972, the Director-General of the Research Branch, Agriculture Canada authorized the formation of an internal task force to: 1) survey existing information on agricultural pollution of the Lower Great Lakes, and 2) develop a proposal for a research program to find solutions for any problems identified in the survey. Three sources of agricultural pollution were identified: 1) Animal and crop waste disposal, 2) Plant nutrients from agricultural land, and 3) Use of pesticides on agricultural crops. This report focusses on the the pesticide study.
