Abstract

Highlighted in this issue is an article on nature conservation by Jack Miner. Continuing this month are photographs of War Memorial Hall, the Field Husbandry Building (Zavitz Hall), and the College breeding stock. Agricultural articles in this issue pertain to the Shorthorn cattle at the college, dairy research in Australia, and the grading of Garnet Wheat. Other articles include the winners of the athletic awards of 1928-1929, benefits of membership in the National Federation of Canadian University Students, and ideas for school fall fairs. A Macdonald Institute student contributes an article on nutritious diets for athletes. Campus news reports on the plans for a weekly publication of the O. A. C. Weekly, successful banquets and concerts, and letters to the editor. A new student column reprints historical articles from 1890 and 1910. The athletics column reports on the results for the hockey, indoor meet, and basketball teams. The Macdonald Institute column provides an article on preparing salads, and includes updates of the Macdonald athletic and social events. While the Alumni column provides alumni updates.
