dc.description.abstract This issue begins with a 1913 article on eugenics and a call to begin a eugenics club at the O. A. C. Agricultural articles pertain to investigating Pear Blight in the Niagara region, a comparison on whether to harvest clover seed or use it as fodder, a critical view of the hog industry in Canada, microbiology in the home, and the usage of artificial incubation of chicks. There is also a biography of Dr. DeLaval the inventor of the cream separator. Printed in this issue is a short story by O. Henry. Also included is two travel memoirs, one of the Rothschild estate in England and the other a Macdonald College student's perspective of Guelph. In the editorial, President Creelman recommends that students spend a year farming before continuing their studies. The campus news reports on the athletic concert, the Horticulture Club banquet, an energetic debate regarding women's suffrage, the spring dance, and the results of the oratorical contest. The athletic news provides the results of the indoor meet, the success of the 1912 rugby football team, and the team results of the aquatics, boxing, wrestling, hockey, baseball, basketball, and fencing teams. The Macdonald column reports on a field trip to Sleeman brewery, the value of demonstration lectures, and the Macdonald Hall Y. W. C. A. Alumni news is located in the Alumni column.
