Abstract: The first issue of the year contains articles on winter injury to fruit trees, reflection on the custom of hazing, a review of experimental work conducted at the O. A. C., and temperament in horses. Poultry articles pertain to the selection of breeding stock and the profitability of egg production. Thomas Hughes authored one of the two short stories printed in this issue. The editorial provides an overview of the five college societies on campus: the Athletics Society, the Literary Society, the Y. M. C. A., the Philharmonic Society, and the Students' Publishing Association. Campus news outlines the sophomore banquet, changes in the faculty, and the football season. The Macdonald column features an article on the comportment of the Macdonald Institute women in society. Alumni news is located in the Alumni column and highlights an alumnus' letter from Australia.
