Abstract

This expanded Christmas issue contains a Christmas greeting from President Falconer of the University of Toronto. Articles featured are regarding the work of the District Representative in experimental agriculture in the rural schools, Canadian Pacific Railway's beatification of their grounds in Western Canada, the changes in public education to include vocational training, and the profitability of forestry in Ontario. The agricultural articles address the conformation of different classes of horses in Canada, how a demonstration train may be an extension of agricultural education, and a student's account of farming in the Niagara Peninsula. The poultry articles pertain to the Christmas poultry market and exhibiting poultry. Campus news features an editorial on the surge in immigration to Canada, the beginnings of the O. A. C. Cosmopolitan Club, biographies of the 4 new presidents of the college societies, and the Athletic Association report on the varsity field day and football games. The Schools' and Teachers' Department column outlines the instruction in household science, manual training, and school gardening conducted in Toronto. The Macdonald Institute column reports on the events of the season such as the Halloween promenade, the Mac Athletic Association events, and the history of the chrysanthemum. Alumni news is available in the Alumni column.
