Abstract: Inuit across Inuit Nunangat are experiencing shifts in health and lifestyle due to the effects of climate change. Their close proximity and deep relationship to a region that is rapidly changing have resulted in circumstances that are undesirable and adverse to their quality and way of life. The eNuk software is an interdisciplinary project that is being co-developed by the Inuit community of Rigolet, Canada to facilitate the co-management of information useful for monitoring, disseminating, and engaging with the ongoing changes they experience. This thesis presents the creation of a prototype of this software over three research trips to Rigolet where we explored a community-based and participatory approach. We document and reflect on the process, the prototype that emerged, and local factors that informed the prototype. We propose this as a valuable approach to pursue in this context. The prototype is currently in use by community-members with continued iteration planned.
