Richard Zytner


Prof. Zytner is a Professor in the School of Engineering, University of Guelph working in the area of Environmental Engineering. He joined the School of Engineering after working as a consultant in the site remediation sector. His major research interests involve the remediation of contaminated sites, focussing on topics like soil vapour extraction and bioventing. He has also studied the treatment of wastewater using MBR technology, with emphasis on treating fresh cut fruit and vegetable wastewater, with the goal of reducing fresh water consumption. He has collaborated with several universities in Germany. He is an Associate Editor with the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering and works closely with Professional Engineers Ontario, where he was honoured with a Medal of Honour – Member Grade.
