dc.description.abstract This research project focused on food labels and the trust and knowledge the average consumer has when purchasing food products in grocery stores. The purpose of this research was to answer “what is a trusted piece of information about environmental sustainability that consumers look for on a label?” The objective of this research project was to determine what people look for in a label to deem a product “environmentally sustainable”, what marketing techniques are being used to influence a consumer's purchase and identifying what is “missing” on a label in order to display the disconnect between what information the general population wants on a sustainable meat/seafood label compared to what they are actually receiving. en_US
