Abstract
This issue introduces the students to the many activities and campus organizations available at the College. Articles include a student's perspective on schoolteachers, the development of rural telephone service, and the annual report on the Ontario Agricultural College. Agricultural articles pertain to farm poultry, seed cultivation at the O. A. C., and community agricultural education. Other agricultural articles address the preparation of poultry for the winter and determining soil moisture on a farm. Profiled in this issue are the student organizations that include the Union Literary Society, the Philharmonic Society, the Athletic Association, and the Student Co-operative Association. Wartime articles highlight the Red Cross Society's appeal to Canadian farmers, the O. A. C. alumnus who is the chairman for the Red Cross Society, and the necessity of transporting foodstuffs to England. The editorial welcomes the new freshmen. The Alumni column includes wartime correspondence from the front, and alumni updates. The Macdonald Institute column reports the Macdonald graduate's list. While the Locals column provides campus humour.
