Abstract
This issue begins with the "Country Boy's Creed" about how rural life surpasses city life. The agricultural articles pertain to the profitability of field drainage, raising Ayrshire dairy cattle, and the dairy industry in Nova Scotia. An interesting article extolls the use of the automobile on the farm and its value of providing farmwomen with greater independence. Horticultural articles provide details on the management of apiaries and starting seeds for the garden. Other articles address the annual meeting of the Canadian Produce Association, agricultural education in rural schools, the potato industry in Ontario, tracking winter animals, and the Norfolk County agricultural short course. Mrs. George Smith provides a summary of the 1914 White Paper of England that outlines the communique preceding England's declaration of war against Germany. Other agricultural articles provide a history of egg incubation and a report on the Edinburgh Agricultural College. Campus news reports on the history of the Cosmopolitan Club, student athletic activities, the inter-year debates and public speaking contest, and the student concerts. The Alumni column includes entries of enlistments in the military and other alumni activities. The Macdonald Institute column reports on the activities of the Y. W. C. A. and women's athletic activities. While the Locals column provides campus humour.
