Abstract

The primary objective of the tomato breeding and cultivar evaluation research at the Ridgetown College of Agricultural Technology is to develop and introduce high yielding tomato cultivars suitable for wholepack processing. Cultivar screening was done at RCAT and multilocation trials were conducted at four grower locations in Kent and Essex counties. One screening trial with 26 entries was planted this year with the main objective of identifying new cultivars suitable for processing and adapted to Southwest Ontario growing conditions.
