Provides information about this month’s feature career (Bioinformatics) and starting points for further information. This article is part of the “SONIC Coach” collection, 22 articles offering practical advice (monthly) and profiles of emerging careers in health research (bimonthly) for high school students interested in careers in science. They were originally published and accessible through the SONIC website until funding for SONIC ended and the associated website was suspended. SONIC (“Synapse Outreach Network in Cell Signals”) was an initiative of “Health Applications of Cell Signaling in Mucosal Inflammation & Pain” (“Cell Signals” http://www.cellsignals.ca).
