The conservation tillage components of the TRIC and SAREMP work programs consisted of both technical and practical activities: (a) demonstrations of on-farm applications of various types of conservation tillage, (b) comparative monitoring of relevant parameters including crop yield and erosion control in a controlled environment on selected sites, (c) surveys and opinion polls of farmers related to conservation tillage, (d) promotion and provision of information on conservation tillage. Both technical and practical conclusions and recommendations relating to further promotion of conservation tillage were thus established.
