The publication of this record of Fifty Years of Progress of the Dominion Experimental Farms is particularly appropriate at this time, since the Dominion Department of Agriculture is now being reorganized. This in turn affects the Experimental Farms Service as to the divisions contained therein and their relationship to the other services in the department. The history of an institution is essentially the history of its accomplishments and personnel. A brief sketch of the senior personnel is given in the historical section of the publication while the balance is devoted to a very brief outline of the accomplishments and present activities which will have undoubted value in the upbuilding of Canadian agriculture.
