Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of four different rates of Wormcast (23 kg, 46 kg, 116 kg and 231 kg/100m2) in comparison to several control treatments in the control of snow mold disease Separate plots were inoculated with Typhula incarnata, Typhula ishikariensis, and Microdochium nivale snow molds. Treatment was applied in the fall before the first snowfall. Phytotoxicity and Biotic plus abiotic injury were measured on a weekly basis one the snow melted till greenup. The highest rates of phytotoxicity were seen in the Wormcast treatment. Plots inoculated with Microdochium nivale saw significant suppression of injury, although higher rates also saw higher rates of disease.
