Abstract

The Library's UX Team conducted focus groups with faculty and staff in August 2018 to learn about their attitudes and perceptions towards internal communications. Based on our findings we recommended: (1) using multiple communication channels over time to reach a broad audience; (2) showing a single slide at the beginning of department meetings to increase faculty awareness; (3) increasing word-of-mouth communication using the model of department ambassadors; (4) experimenting with announcements in classrooms when targeting messages to students; and (5) accompanying emails with event invitations with calendar invites
