Abstract

The following report is a comparison between a number of drought-tolerant turfgrass species, with an emphasis on appearance, establishment, and drought tolerance. Data was collected for the germination rate, coverage, spring green-up, turf quality, colour, density, and uniformity. On average the Pickseed, OSC, and Wildflower mixtures had the highest quality, although due to location and care none of the mixtures performed well. Little rainfall over the season also played a role in the initial seeding and growth. Less than adequate amounts of fertilizer applied to the hydroseeding cause little to no fertilizer to carry over to the following season.
