Abstract
The objective of this study was to determine if conservation tillage systems (ridge and no-tillage) affected the volume, concentration and total amount of NO3- lost in both surface and tile runoff as compared to a conventional tillage (moldboard) practice. The amount of nitrogen assimilated by the plant would also affect the amount available for leaching losses. Therefore, the effect o conservation tillage systems (ridge tillage and no-till) on corn grain yields and N uptake were also evaluated.
