Purpose: the initial purpose of the study decribed here was to evaluate the field performance of a prototype-version of an automatic transplanter under development, by Clay-Mill technical Systems (Windsor, Ontario) and accelerate the commercial introduction of this technology to Ontario's processing tomato industry.
