Abstract

4 types of seeds were evaluated to determine their efficiency's in initial plant growth. 2 creeping bentgrass cultivars, Cato and Penncross, seeded without coating, and the same two cultivars pretreated with Nutri-Kote+Apron. Initial differences in treatments were seen by visual ratings on 16,18, and 19 days after seeding. On average the seeds with coating took longer to emerge. Small non-statistically significant differences were seen between coated and uncoated seeds. Insignificant yet higher results were seen in the coated seeds in regards to the root length, and uniformity.
