Abstract
This thesis in an investigation of the relationship between participation in the Ontario Co-operative Association's (OCA) Co-operative Young Leaders (CYL) program, and the subsequent community and leadership activity, and co-operative involvement, of program alumni. The level of co-operative membership, community involvement, and leadership engagement was found to be high among the respondents. While the findings showed that CYL was considered to have positively influenced this level of activity, the available data could not verify that participation in the CYL program had contributed directly to this high level of participation. Additional longitudinal study would be required to further explore the level of association between participation in CYL and subsequent community and leadership activity, and co-operative involvement, and its persistence into adulthood.
