Abstract
The 1950s and early 1960s are said to be a time of trust in science and medicine. Adding fluoride to drinking water has often been controversial in Canada. Looking at the history of this issue, this study shows attitudes of uncertainty and anxiety about science and medicine dur-ing this time.
