Abstract
This study of the Don River system had the following objectives: 1) to provide an up-to-date biological data base which can be used in conjunction with water quality data for a complete aquatic assessment; 2) to compare 1984 data with those for 1949 in order to determine the past community structure and what the impacts of continued urbanization have been; and 3) to assess the potential for fisheries rehabilitation.
