Abstract

This research study was testing sphagnum peat moss to determine how it performs when added on Kentucky bluegrass in home lawn turf. The treatment added was a combination of peat moss topdressing and aerification. After the data was collected it was determined that there were no significant patterns of soil characteristics that were consistent across all treatments. Overall there were some short-term benefits from the topdressing with peat moss for all treatments, more specifically with the improvement of Turf colour. However, some detrimental side effects were seen on the turf density.
