The overarching goal of the course curriculum is to provide a better understanding of the overwhelming number of options that are available to these students following their high school careers. It is important to give students the opportunity to understand the steps that must be taken in order to become the common professions like, teacher, lawyer, doctor, or business owner. It is also important to give students a picture of not so common professions and what they entail for them to thrive to achieve those jobs, astronaut, athlete, or construction worker. Many jobs options are not even made known to students and this course sets out to give students self recognition of their interests and skills and helps them choose which destined path they should follow after their graduation. This course gives first hand experience of the employment opportunities discussed and gives students the opportunity to volunteer with these career options and see if this calling is right for them.
