Title: Meeting the challenge of climate change: A status report on initiatives in Ontario to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Abstract: Canada has made a commitment to address the environmental threat posed by climate change. Meeting this difficult challenge will require a wide range of initiatives by all levels of government, the private sector and individual Canadians to help control and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. Ontario is committed to assisting Canada meet the national climate change objectives. This status report outlines activities in Ontario that will help manage greenhouse gas emissions. The policies and programs in place today, the actions planned, and the studies in progress together provide a framework upon which further actions will be introduced, as all sectors of the province continue to work toward the national target for climate change.
