Abstract
The Lake Simcoe Environmental Management Strategy (L.S.E.M.S.)-Community Relations Program is an ongoing program which began in early 1982. The main purpose of the Community Relations Program is to promote awareness about the environmental problems of Lake Simcoe and the aims, objectives and programs of L.S.E.M.S. The program is designed to inform landowners about the long term benefits of erosion control in terms of improved land productivity and better stream and lake quality. The program is directed towards residents in the Lake Simcoe watershed, particularly landowners and students. A number of public awareness programs designed around these objectives have been carried out since 1982.
